The Tiger's Revenge

A high-definition video series on Operation Jaywick, the legendary Krait raid on Singapore during World War 2, is the latest project to take inspiration from the SAS Historical Collection.

The Tiger’s Revenge aims to portray the daring mission by Australian and British commandos to infiltrate Singapore Harbour and sink 35,000 tonnes of Japanese shipping in 1943.

Potential investors were invited to a presentation and preview in the Historical Precinct at Swanbourne, with Seven West Media columnist Ben Harvey spruiking the concept, backed by director Kieran Darcy-Smith and executive producers Shea Walsh and Oliver Wenn.

SAS Historical Foundation chair Greg Mawkes welcomed guests to Campbell Barracks, with particular reference to the 1 SAS Company Building which houses displays and artefacts from Z Special Force, the WW2 forerunner of Australian Special Forces.

Harvey introduced a trailer of The Tiger’s Revenge with praise for Special Forces warriors, past and present.

“Words don’t do justice to what these young men did in 1943,” he said. “We’re hoping this trailer will.”

Walsh also urged the audience to embrace the service of those involved in the WW2 campaign.

“The one thing we don’t do as Australians is to celebrate ourselves and celebrate our heroes,” he said.

“That’s what we wanted to do with this series.”

Guests were then formed into “patrols” to view the collection under the guidance of SAS Historical Foundation volunteers, who also doubled as official photographers for the evening.

The project is led by Wondership Entertainment with production partners Northern Pictures, Leener Entertainment, and Singapore’s Infinite Studios.
